Syndicate News

We are excited to announce that following the formation of the Carbine of London 5 racing syndicate, we have purchased a beautiful colt by Hello Youmzain out of Bonita Queen. He will be trained at Somerville Lodge in Newmarket by club member William Haggas.

Our new colt is called CARBINE HARVESTER, congratulations to Lord Rathcreeden for winning the naming competition.

A brief video with commentary from William is below.

Our horse was sourced by Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock, who has a formidable reputation for unearthing winners at sensible money and is responsible for buying at least six two year old winners this season already. He purchased for 58,000gs as a yearling last year’s Super Sprint and Lowther Stakes winner Relief Rally, trained by William, who subsequently changed hands at the December Sales for 800,000 guineas!

William is well known as one of the country’s leading trainers, having won many races at the highest level including the Derby and Oaks, winners at Royal Ascot including the superb Baaeed and other winners not only in this country but in France, Ireland and Australia. He and his wife Maureen (daughter of the legendary Lester Piggott) are a great training partnership and also make ownership great fun. Stable jockey Tom Marquand is also recognised as one of the very best in the business.

Hello Youmzain’s first two year olds run this year and he had his first winner the other day. Three colts by him made over £200,000 at this year’s breeze up sales. He was a very smart sprinter himself winning the Haydock Sprint Cup and Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot for Kevin Ryan.

Our colt is the first produce of the listed race winner Bonita Queen and is related to several speedy horses including Keir Park, Swiss Lake, Swiss Spirit and successful sire Ardad.

Willam feels Carbine Harvester is progressing very nicely and he is hoping to run him, probably over 6 furlongs, in about 3 to 4 weeks’ time.

Let’s hope Carbine Harvester can follow in the footsteps of Awesome Dancer’s famous Ascot victory.

We will post regular updates over the coming months.
